Huntington Story

Huntington At 10pm Wednesday, 53 year old Janice Jones was shot in the right leg by her Pomeranian dog Tombo in Huntington Beach in Barstow, California. Later investigation shows that Tombo may have been subject to abuse by it's owner.  "The moment I saw the gun fall to the ground I felt a sharp pain through my leg, the moment I looked behind me I saw that the bullet landed in my car",  Janice said.   "Jones was really lucky, It could have been worse" said Rye "the bullet hit two inches away from the gas tank". If the bullet had hit the gas tank the car would have exploded and further more injure Jones and her dog.  When Jones was admitted to the hospital no one could watch the dog so it was taken care of by the Huntington Beach animal control officers. I begin to undo the covers and take my decorative pillows and put them in the corner of my room next to my mirror and night stand. I realize that I haven't brushed my teeth, gross how could I forget. I walk back down the hallway and enter my room, I turn off the light and dive into the bed. It's the best feeling that I’ve felt all day. I snuggle into the covers and get comfortable I enjoy the peace I have in my room, It's quiet and there's no fear that anyth

It upsets me because seeing all of these people without a home makes me wonder if they are ever going to get back on track with there lives.  I think that they are taking the step into the right direction by acknowledging that something needs to be done. But when i lived in Florida i barely saw people on the streets and because there a whole camp under one overpass it says that they may need to do more than a new ordinance.  I think the best answer to homeless people in Austin is to give homeless people the opportunity to make money by giving them work. I think that many homeless people c

Leads: Three good leads include, how lead, why lead, and what lead.  How lead: begins with the how of the story  Why lead: begins with the cause of the story.  What lead: begins with the fact of the story. These leads are better because they are used often more than the 3 other leads (Who, when, where).  Direct quotes: A direct quote creates a transition between paragraphs. A direct quote links the paragraph before the previous one and elaborates on it.  Because of an anonymous $25,000 donation, students who ride a school bus to and from school will have access to the Internet during their commute starting March 1.
