Huntington Story

Huntington
At 10pm Wednesday, 53 year old Janice Jones was shot in the right leg by her Pomeranian dog Tombo in Huntington Beach in Barstow, California. Later investigation shows that Tombo may have been subject to abuse by it's owner.

"The moment I saw the gun fall to the ground I felt a sharp pain through my leg, the moment I looked behind me I saw that the bullet landed in my car",  Janice said.

"Jones was really lucky, It could have been worse" said Rye "the bullet hit two inches away from the gas tank". If the bullet had hit the gas tank the car would have exploded and further more injure Jones and her dog.

When Jones was admitted to the hospital no one could watch the dog so it was taken care of by the Huntington Beach animal control officers. When Tombo was there the officers noticed many signs of abuse and neglect by its owner.

According to Janet Ngo Tombo was malnourished and had a series of cigarette burns among the head. Ngo and her office are considering the fact that they may have to press charges against Jones for animal abuse.

Among the gun accident Jones was on the verge of being charged with an expired license. And to add on to that Jones did not have a permit to have the gun with her. "Jones did not have a license for the gun and she was abusing her dog on top of it, not a good look".

Earthquake
It was an early morning at 8:12 am when an earthquake hit the San Francisco bay area with a magnitude of 6.4 on the Richter scale.

"People as far south as Los Angeles and as far north as Redding felt the quake," Gertz said referring to the strength of the earthquake.  As a part of the strength of the earthquake a building collapsed leaving two people dead and six people injured.

Along with the collapse of Mchenry's Auto Supply at 2342 Plum St. The next door resident of the establishment Mike beamer shares his experience with the collapse.“I was eating my breakfast when the room started rolling. I dove under the table just as I heard an explosion outside and a chunk of cement flew through my kitchen window. That’s when the screaming start across the street.”

The search in Mchenry's was rough, as the firefighters stabilized the building they had to be very careful because one wrong move and anyone in the building could get hurt, including the first responders. To put more pressure on the firemen there was a gas leak that had to be capped.

Everybody inside of the building was transferred to Hayward general Hospital. out of all of the injured three were injured seriously. "All of the 12 police and 5 American cross members working together with the twenty-one fire personnel working together to save lives was truly a sight to see" said Vu.

Underneath the Hayward Hills lyes the epicenter of this massive earthquake. This quake also occurred at the Hayward fault. "I had never seen such a bad quake" Said Scientist Penny Gurtz "this was truly a strong one".

"The Hayward hills have a record for massive earthquakes" Stated Gurtz. Every other time that there was an earthquake scientists could trace to the the Hayward fault line.
