The man who played the violin

How do we perceive beauty?
Everyone sees the world in their own eyes, its their perspective and their view on the things around them. So everyone has their own perspective of beauty as well. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." There is nothing that is beautiful, its something that people think is beautiful. Just like when someones says nothing is truly perfect, nothing is truly beautiful. Beauty can be set as an unrealistic goal that can never be achieved, that is why it is important to find beauty in yourself.

Do we stop and appreciate it enough?
Very often we find ourselves caught up in our own lives, unable to really sit down and focus on the world around you. For example in the article Pearls Before Breakfast: Can One of the Nations Greatest Musicians Cut Through the Fog of a DC Rush Hour? All the people that passed this great artist were all focused on the thing right in front of the them. The people on there commute to work were focused on getting there and all the people in line for a lottery ticket were focused on purchasing their ticket, "keeping their eyes on the prize".  If anyone truly stopped in there tracks and listened they would have realized how beautiful the musician was.

Can we recognize the talent in an expected context?
I think that beauty can be recognized by anyone who is willing to see/hear it. For example you could be talking to someone but you are never going fully understand what is happening if you aren't willing to pay attention.

If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing the
best music ever written, how many other things are we missing?
Too much, if we fail to see that a prodigy violinist is right in front of us and we are more concerned about making it to work on time we could be missing opportunities by a hair because we are more concerned about our phones or a lottery ticket. I think that is so sad and disappointing
that people are straight stuck between the decision of ignoring art and making it to work on time or
taking at least five minutes to just listen.
