Media Literacy


  1. AP, Bloomberg, ABC News
  2. Daily Beast, Mic, Slate. 
  3. National Review, The Weekly Standard, Reason.com
  4.  Palmer report, Patribotics Liberal. Infowars, The Blaze Conservative.  
  5.  Facts- A statement that can be proven true with evidence.
  6. Opinion- A persons thoughts on a subject often informed with emotion. Is a belief of something. 
  7.  Informed opinion- A persons thoughts backed up with facts. 
  8. You can find facts by looking at resources such as books or online. 
  9. People that were affected by the story of were apart of it often have an informed opinion on the event or story. 
  10. Opinions can creep into writings when the the writer writes about how they feel about the story. 
  11. Words like, I, in my opinion, i feel, are specific words that insert the writers opinion. 
  12. Amendment 1.
  13. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
  14. The purpose of journalism is communication and how information travels on place to another and how citizens use that information. 
  15. Each headline tells one part of the story Reuters talks about how Manafort was found guilty. Los Angeles Times talks about how the conservative media still stands by trump after Manafort was found guilty of tax fraud. And NPR talks about the media being completely divided over the situation. 
  16. The bais of media is evident because each side of the media is either talking about how president trump had nothing to do with the situation or is saying that trump was involved with everything and he needs to be impeached. 
  17. i think that they chose two different things on the front of there websites because they wanted to have original stories, but one story ended up being biased.
  18. I think that media should keep coverage the same to make sure that the story is as genuine as possible. 
  19. I think that stories shouldn't be slanted because then the story isn't true. 
  20. I think that news companies need to tell the story how it is if the story isn't interesting for everyone its not a good story. 
  21. The news can get an accurate report by getting accurate sources.
